The Advocate for Youth (A4Y) is set to build its pet project for 2007: Club K Youth Hub in Muntinlupa City.

In a phone interview with A4Y president Cyndy Jarabata last week, she said that CLUB K (Kabataan, Kalusugan, Karapatan) Youth Hub will serve as the teen headquarters as well as counseling and clinic for the young people in Muntinlupa.

It will serve as a training center for English proficiency to help those who want to work in call Centers to teach them about reproductive health, STD and HIV.

Jarabata said based on some interviews with young people, she found out that no matter of advocacies they do, some tend to have more fun doing sex because of being jobless and lack of enough skills to find a decent job.

The “Youth Hub” she emphasized, will answer their problems to have a quality life. The A4Y Already tied up with some call centers in Muntinlupa that will absorb their trainees after a two week free training seminars to be conducted by the academic Out Source(AOS).

The trainees will be divided into three classes consisting of 15 to 20 students only. But before accepting trainees, all interested individuals must undergo an eligibility test.

They will also be developed as the future peer educator/motivator.  Non-Muntinlupa residents can also avail of the English proficiency training but with a minimum charge. A4Y’s next target for another youth hub is in Quezon City or Pasig. Jarabata is also inviting the youth to join the A4Y.
