When forces align themselves with a noble purpose to uplift humanity, the power of the Universe rallies behind them. This was the feeling surrounding that the meeting with Guest Speaker Cyndy Tan-Jarabata of the Advocates for Youth Foundation.

She talked of the importance of properly molding the minds of the Youth because they are the next in line, the ones who will take over the work we have started. To ensure a brighter future that moves forward in all aspects of our lives, we have to instill higher values that would propel and guide them in the work ahead. This is where the digging out of psychological trash that leads to disfunctionality and the new conditioning of higher values comes in.

Cyndy narrated her life experiences and lessons, how it led her to organize the foundation che holds at the moment. She felt a calling to inform and train the youth in dealing and most of all coping with life’s challenges. It would be amusing to take note that we all came in this planet armed with nothing. All that we use to cope are tools handed down by the previous generations. No manuals were provided to contend with life’s formidable tasks seem insurmountable and these are the times when we need assistance from others who have treaded similar paths.

This is where the Advocates for Youth Foundation enters the picture or even before then, to give assistance to teenagers in their daily concerns about life, particularly unwanted teenage pregnancy and how to work around it. Adolescence is one of the most challenging years in our lives when we are starting to veer our attention away from the home to our environment in a serious way. Also, it is a time of tremendous anxiety and headaches for parents on what their brood is up to with peers in adventurous situations. We have treaded that path and we try our best not to let them have a taste of negative consequences.

Cyndy also recognized the similar paths her group and the RCMR projects are headed for achieving. When VP Noel Resella discussed the integration workshops plans for Nayon ng Kabataan, she saw a vast similarity in content and purpose and suggested working hand in hand fulfill related plans and projects.

In connection with this, both groups were interviewed at the ANC Channel last month represented by CP Litay Brunner Ferrera, VP Noel Resella and Audrey David for the Advocates for Youth Foundation.
