I. Sexual Activity
Young unmarried women
- Among the 15-19 years old
- 1% had sex in the past 12 months
- Among the 20-24 years old
- 4% had sex in the past 12 months
Young unmarried men
- Among the 15-19 years old
- 6 out of 10 men had sex in the past 12 months
- 3% had multiple partners in the past 12 months
- 15% ever had sexual relations with another man
II. Fertility
Young women
- By age 19,
- 1 out of 4 women are already mothers
- 4 out of 10 among the 20-24 years old women have already engaged in sex
- Among the 20-24 years old
- 1 out of 2 are already mothers
- Among the married young women (20-24)
- Fertility preferences
- 3 out of 10 do not want to have another child
- 5 out of 10 want another child but later
- 1 out of 4 are practicing family planning
- Most popular method use is Pill (4 out of 10 FP users)
- 2 out of 10 use withdrawal
- 1 out of 10 had IUD inserted
- 1 out of 10 use injectable
- 1 out of 4 want to practice family planning but for some reasons are not doing so (unmet need for FP)
Young men
- Among the 20-24 years old
- 1 out of 5 are already fathers
III. HIV/AIDS & Condom Use:
Young women (15-19)
- 8 out of 10 believe there is a way to prevent contracting AIDS
- 4 out of 10 know that using condoms can prevent AIDS
- 7 out of 10 believe that if they limit having sex with one uninfected person can prevent AIDS
- 3 out of 10 know correctly that sharing food with a person with AIDS and mosquito bites cannot transmit AIDS virus
Young men (15-19)
- 8 out of 10 believe there is a way to prevent contracting AIDS
- 6 out of 10 know that using condoms can prevent AIDS
- 7 out of 10 believe that if they limit having sex with one uninfected person can prevent AIDS

2 out of 10 used condom during first sex experience.
